Last week, a vehicle displaying L plates was stopped for documents check. Checks at the roadside showed the driver was not meeting the legal requirements, resulting in the vehicle being seized and the driver reported for offences.
Driving on L plates? You must have: A valid provisional licenceCorrect insurance L plates clearly displayed on the front and rear of the vehicleA qualified supervising driver A qualified supervising driver must be: Aged 21 or over Held a full UK driving licence for at least 3 years Licensed for the same type of vehicle Fit to drive (not over the drink/drug limit) Learner drivers: before you drive, check your licence, insurance, and supervision. If you’re unsure, don’t risk it.
